This guide walks through the basic steps required to publish or edit a resolution in WordPress using GovernDocs.
Step 1: Create a resolution
Go to GovernDocs > Resolutions in the WordPress admin menu and then click Add New Resolution.
The resolution editor allows you to add the resolution title, description, resolution details, supporting document, and related meetings.
Step 2: Add the resolution details
Fill in the main resolution fields such as resolution number, date, and status.
You can also add a short description to explain the purpose or subject of the resolution on the front end.
Step 3: Upload the resolution document
Use the Document section to upload the resolution file and add any relevant document notes.
The uploaded document can then be made available to visitors from the public resolution page.
Step 4: Link related meetings
Use the Related Meetings section to select any meetings where the resolution was considered, discussed, or adopted.
This allows visitors to move between the resolution and the relevant meeting records.
Step 5: Publish the resolution
Click Publish to save the resolution. The record can then be displayed anywhere on your site using the shortcode shown in the resolution editor sidebar.
Step 6: Display the resolution
Copy the shortcode and paste it into a page, post, or widget area that accepts shortcodes.
